DIY Wooden Plaque Necklace
A little while ago I picked up these wooden plaque pendants from The Works after instantly deciding they were too useful to leave in the shop. A few weeks later I came across a Topshop scarf which caught my eye with it's pretty combination of colours and geometric print. I really loved the idea of combining the two, a modern geometric style pattern with natural wood & leather materials and so, this project was born!
To make your own you will need: a small wooden plaque pendant, acrylic paints, a toothpick, a paintbrush, leather cord
1. Use white acrylic paint to add a base coat or two to your wooden plaque and set aside to dry
2. Draw your design onto the face of the plaque using a pencil to give you a guideline to follow with the paint
3. Add colour to your design using acrylic paints - if your design has thin lines like mine you may find using a toothpick makes them easier to paint!
4. Once dry knot on a length of leather cord to turn the plaque pendant into a necklace!
As always I'd love to hear from you if you try out this or any other project from my DIY Archives - if you enjoy them please subscribe to my blog via Bloglovin' to make sure you don't miss any posts! :)
