As some of you may know back at the beginning of the year I set myself a challenge to buy less books in 2014 in an attempt to try and read more of those that I already owned. I started out by listing all of the books in my collection that I hadn't read (there were over 100!) and out of those I picked out 24 that I aimed to read this year.
Although I've completed my Goodreads challenge I've not done so well on this one. Out of the 24 titles I've only managed to read these 9 so far:
- Attachments, Rainbow Rowell ✯✯✯
- Trapped, Michael Northropp ✯✯
- Beauty Queens, Libba Bray ✯✯
- Unremembered, Jessica Brody ✯✯
- Legend, Marie Lu ✯✯✯
- A Long Way Down, Nick Hornby ✯✯✯
- An Abundance Of Katherines, John Green ✯✯
- Sweet Little Lies, Lauren Conrad ✯✯
- Yes Man, Danny Wallace ✯✯✯✯✯
As you can see I haven't had much luck with the ones I have picked up, only finding one title that I really loved and I think this is why I've been failing a little bit. The challenge has definitely made me think harder before buying a new book as I have found that a lot of those I expected to really enjoy didn't work out as well as I'd hoped. Luckily I still have some titles left that I'm looking forward to so fingers crossed there are some more gems sitting on my bookshelf just waiting to be read!
