This week's DIY is not only great to serve at a Halloween party or movie night, its also the perfect way to use up leftover sweets from trick or treating if you have any younger family members.
The basic hard candy recipe is the same one I used for the Dexter Blood Slides last month only this time I waited until it turned a golden colour, orangey for Halloween if you will, before pouring onto the mat. I went for an Autumn theme and whilst the candy was still hot I sprinkled on chopped roasted hazelnuts and mini marshmallows. I followed up with a drizzle of melted dark chocolate spread once the candy had set and popped it in the fridge. When you're ready to serve remove the candy from the fridge and snap into bite-sized chunks!
This simple idea is really easy to customise - add in your favourite sweets, nuts, liquid flavourings, chocolates, biscuits or anything else you like for a crunchy and sweet treat this Autumn.
What flavour combination would you choose?
