Style Inspiration: Emma Stone on the Red Carpet

People's Choice Awards 2012 / Golden Globes 2012 / National Board of Review Awards Gala 2012 / MTV Movie Awards 2011 / Golden Globes 2011

Conde Nast Traveler Annual Hotlist Party 2011 / Critic's Choice Awards 2012 / BAFTAs 2011 / Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2011 / Deauville Film Festival 2011
Hamburg Premiere of The Help 2011 / Critic's Choice Awards 2011 / Chloe Boutique Opening 2009 / LA Premiere of Easy A 2010 / Glamour Louis Vitton Party 2011

I started putting together this post using just her recent outfits from this year's Golden Globes, People's Choice and Critic's Choice but ended up getting carried away as there were so many more beautiful looks to choose from. Unlike some stars Emma doesn't seem to stick to a formula when it comes to choosing dresses and is not afraid to try out new shapes and colours. Looking at the images lined up here her varying hairstyles also stand out and are obviously chosen to compliment the neckline and style of the particular dress. Despite her varied collection of looks there is one consistent thing I've noticed; her minimal approach to jewellery. She often opts for just a ring or chunky bangle and never necklaces or real statement pieces.

Here are my top five Emma Stone Red Carpet outfits...

1.  Conde Nast Traveler Annual Hotlist Party 2011 / Preen: I love the subtle pale blue tone of this dress so much and paired with the bright pink lipstick and Gwen Stacy blonde curls it's my favourite look of them all. I also really love the classic shape which is so easy to wear.

2. Hamburg Premiere of The Help 2011 / Lanvin: A beautiful cut and colour that compliments her red hair perfectly and a pop of red carpet shimmer with the clutch bag. Not one of her most talked about looks but what's not to like?!

3. Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2011 / Chanel: Another dress I've not seen talked about often is this beautiful dark purple Chanel number. I love the combination of colours, the texture of the skirt and the pattern detailing in the top and sleeves. Without the longer section on the back of the skirt it would still be a lovely dress but I think it's that detail which makes it red carpet ready.

4. Critic's Choice Awards 2012 / Jason Wu: The most amazing colour ever which is so perfect with her red hair, I think this dress is youthful but still really elegant.

5. Golden Globes 2012 / Lanvin: I've already mentioned how much I love this dress. The red tones are so perfect, the skirt moves beautifully and the belt is an unusual but brilliant touch for the Globes. It's much more of a "rock chick" ensemble than her 2011 CK dress in every way.

Almost making the cut: Golden Globes 2011 / Calvin Klein
Speaking of the peach CK dress it only narrowly missed out on my top five. Its such a beautiful shape but I personally think its a shame she didn't wear this to compliment her natural pale skin tone as the peach colour of the dress does blend in a bit with the colour of her face/arms! Worn at a different time it would definitely have made the cut.

Are you a fan of Emma's style? Which look is your favourite?
