NYX Color Lipbalms

Left: Shade 12 Shukran, Right: Shade 10 Tack

Unfortunately most of the popular lip balms just don't work for me at all. Offerings from Vaseline, Carmex, Figs & Rouge, Chapstick and Blistex have, in the past, all made my lips either sting, crack or just feel worse in general. I opted to try these NYX balms after pining over similar tinted balms from Burt's Bees which I didn't end up buying because, although they looked lovely, I didn't want to spend £5.99 on something that might irritate my lips.

When I was placing an order for some nail polishes I decided to add a NYX Color Balm to my cart as a little extra and I'm so glad that I did. I chose the shade Shukran as it looked like it would give a nice natural and subtle hint of colour. It's hard to tell what the shades are like from the swatches on the website so if you're thinking of buying one I'd recommend browsing Google for some pictures first!
When it arrived my first impressions of the packaging were that it's very typical for a balm but I thought it looked quite good and was a nice size to pop in my bag. The colour was brighter than I had expected and it also had an amazing fruity smell. I haven't had any problems with either of theses balms being drying or irritating to wear and I would definitely recommend them if you're looking for a tinted balm.

I was so impressed by Shukran that with my next nail polish order I picked up another balm this time in the shade Tack which in the swatch looks like more of a browny-nude. Even though just looking at the colours in their tubes I prefer the look of Tack, I definitely think the pink tone of Shukran suits me better. I really like the look of shade 4 Xie Xie and shade 9 Asante, maybe next time I'll try one of those!

What are your favourite lip balms?

I purchased both NYX Color Balms from priced at $3.59 (approximately £2.35) each
