Sunday DIY: Christmas Decorations

I was completely inspired to make some decorations after reading Skye's post and had so much fun making these! For the salt dough I used 1 cup of flour, 1/2 a cup of salt and 1/2 a cup of water. I decided to leave them out to air dry because they take about 4 hours to dry in the oven at a low temperature which was a bit impractical when we needed to use the oven to cook dinner (!) but they ended up taking over a week to dry naturally. I added texture and patterns to some of them using a chopstick which I also used to make the holes for hanging on the tree. I also pressed glass beads into a few of them whilst the dough was still soft and I really like how those ones turned out. I painted them using basic acrylic paints and a little glitter and I think they look rather lovely on the Christmas tree. As much as I like them I think next year I'll be avoiding the salt dough and using clay instead.
Thanks for the idea Skye!

I'm going to try and get back on track with my 'Sunday DIYs' next year...
