Seche Vite Topcoat

I know that many bloggers have a love/hate relationship with Seche Vite but as I always have my nails painted I'd been wanting to try it for a long time. When I saw the price of a bottle on beautyjoint.com I couldn't resist adding it to my order. I really wanted to love this product as I'm yet to find a really good quality topcoat but sadly I think the pictures speak for themselves really don't they?

On the Friday afternoon I painted my nails with my favourite polish, Topshop's Grunge, and applied a thick layer of Seche Vite as the instructions suggest. Unfortunately the chipping had started by Saturday Morning and by Tuesday large pieces had peeled away leaving me with a complete mess. I'm glad I decided to test it out over a plain colour, if I'd spent ages on some pretty nail art only to find it chipped the next morning I wouldn't be pleased! I'll definitely give it another try sometime soon, maybe over a different brand polish just incase that was the problem although it seems unlikely. If anyone has any tips or can enlighten me as to why Seche Vite was so disastrous for me please let me know in the comments. I'm thinking of trying the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri next!

What do you think of Seche Vite? Love it or hate it?
Any topcoat recommendations?

I bought my bottle of Seche Vite from Beauty Joint for $5.35 (approximately £3.40)
