Looking Forward To Spring.

Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and got all the lovely gifts you were hoping for!
I'd like to say thanks again for the comments, I do really appreciate them :)

I've had more problems with my laptop charger so I haven't been able to post for a little while.
Luckily I managed to find an old charger to use for now so hopefully this one won't break too!
I've also changed my layout a bit and am going to be adding line breaks to my longer posts from now on so remember to look out for the 'read more' button on the left hand side :)

I thought since I've posted more photographs/art stuff recently that I'd do a style-based post today as I'm still keen to keep a balance of both here.
I know it's still wintery and cold outside but personally I'm excited to see Spring collections working their way into the shops as I just can't find anything I want to buy in the sales this year. I've only collected a few images of inspiration here, but I'm already looking forward to it getting a little warmer!

A DIY Update.

I don't usually like to write about more than one different thing in the same post but I feel like I haven't posted much recently although I'm definitely feeling more inspired by the idea of bringing influences from fashion and film together in a creative way as a base for my blog. So, I thought I'd post these couple of updates of things I've been working on. I'm hoping this week to either make a few more things (I have some card designs in mind) or to start another coloured pencil drawing, which is something I haven't done for a while.

The last drawing I attempted was of a still of Robert Downey Jr & Rachel McAdams in Sherlock Holmes which I had my outline prepared for months ago at Uni, but had never got round to my favourite part, the colour! I often find that by the time I get the outline sorted I've lost interest in the image I've chosen or moved onto something else. After an attempt, which I wasn't happy with, at the colour last week, I'm trying hard to find another image to draw.
I usually prefer to post my photographs rather than art pieces, but I thought I'd post these two drawings from around 3 years ago that have been posted online before. These don't show colour pencil but annoyingly I can't find the scanned images of any of those, but if anyone is interested I will try and scan some others in.

Unfinished: Keira Knightley, Atonement

I was planning to do a post on something else earlier today but I've been having trouble with my laptop charger so I've found these polaroids from last year instead.
Hopefully I'll be able to post something again tomorrow!

I'm also trying to think of a proper name for my blog, any ideas?

These are just a few from a series of textile pieces I made at uni based on the scene 'Jack's Smirking Revenge' from the film Fight Club. Usually I hand stitch if I make any textile pieces but these were done using a sewing machine.
Creating these pieces was part of the beginning of my interest in the relationship between characters and backgrounds (why they're so simple looking!).
Hope you like them!
