A DIY Update.

I don't usually like to write about more than one different thing in the same post but I feel like I haven't posted much recently although I'm definitely feeling more inspired by the idea of bringing influences from fashion and film together in a creative way as a base for my blog. So, I thought I'd post these couple of updates of things I've been working on. I'm hoping this week to either make a few more things (I have some card designs in mind) or to start another coloured pencil drawing, which is something I haven't done for a while.

The last drawing I attempted was of a still of Robert Downey Jr & Rachel McAdams in Sherlock Holmes which I had my outline prepared for months ago at Uni, but had never got round to my favourite part, the colour! I often find that by the time I get the outline sorted I've lost interest in the image I've chosen or moved onto something else. After an attempt, which I wasn't happy with, at the colour last week, I'm trying hard to find another image to draw.
I usually prefer to post my photographs rather than art pieces, but I thought I'd post these two drawings from around 3 years ago that have been posted online before. These don't show colour pencil but annoyingly I can't find the scanned images of any of those, but if anyone is interested I will try and scan some others in.

Unfinished: Keira Knightley, Atonement

A quick draw (around 5 hours): Johnny Depp as Captain Jack

I've been working on my dark red snood aswell. I'm now onto my second ball of wool and it's long enough to fit round once but I'm hoping to continue until it's long enough to wrap round twice. At this rate it'll be warm before I finish it!

The last update is something I keep forgetting to post. This is another pendant I made from shrinkle paper shortly after the necklace I posted a while back. The image on the left shows you the size of the original drawing compared to the size after heating. I spent a long time shading in the design and I was really happy with how it turned out. Unfortunately one of the antlers snapped in half so I can't use it :(
When I get some time, and some more shrinkle paper, I will definitely try this design again.

If anyone has any ideas of images (particularly from films) or people you think would be interesting for me to try and draw, let me know in the comments :)
